It was founded in 1967 as Valencia Junior College and was later changed to the present name Valencia Community College in 1971. This Orlando College has a lot of campuses with some additional campuses in Kissimmee and Winter Park. There are over 50,000 students who enroll in this college alone each year. The Orlando Colleges has had some good reputation and Valencia Community College is no exception. It is ranked second in the United State alone for the number of Associate’s degrees awarded. This college’s strength resides in its media related courses. No other Orlando College can compare to the college’s film programs. Even director Steven Spielberg called Valencia’s film program one of the best available. This College has produced some of the United State’s best performance artists like; Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC and Backstreet Boys’ Howie Dorough.
