Orlando Private School

Image:Susquehanna University path.jpgOrlando private schools are those not administered the state or national government. These schools are funded mainly by the tuition fees of their students, donations and other private grants. Tuition fees, as the main source of their funds, are high compared to those in public or general schools, which collect a very small amount or even nothing. Tuition may reach up to $40,000 annually at several boarding Orlando private schools. One of the unique features of private schools is that it has the right to select its students, unlike in public schools which admits everyone by legal mandate. There are numerous Orlando private schools to choose from, both parochial and non-denominational.

Orlando private schools can either be parochial, or those administered by a certain sect, denomination or religion, and non-denominational, which are not run by the former. Some private schools are administered by professionals, private corporations or cooperatives. Orlando private schools claim to employ the best teachers, and an enriched learning environment including a low student to teacher ratio, small class sizes and services such as libraries, science laboratories, and computers.

Religiously affiliated or denominational schools are private schools that teach religious lessons together with usual academic subjects to instill their particular faith's beliefs and traditions in the students who attend. Orlando private schools in this category include The Geneva School, Muslim Academy of Cent, and Trinity Lutheran School. The Geneva School is a classical Christian Orlando private school, which allows evangelical teaching to pervade the entire curriculum and provide the basic framework in all of its academic programs. The Muslim Academy of Cent is an Islamic orientated coed school located in Goldenrod Road in Orlando which offers elementary and secondary. On the other hand, Trinity Lutheran School is Lutheran Church oriented which also offers elementary and secondary education.

There are also Orlando private schools which are not considered sectarian or administered by a certain religious organization. One example of this is the Avalon. The Avalon is a non-sectarian private school in Orlando, which offers special education. Since this is a special education school, the student teacher ratio, which is 10, is low compared to other private schools in the area. This school caters for students who have special needs and its faculty members are highly trained to meet this unique need. Another example is the Galaxy of learning. This non-sectarian Orlando private school offers regular elementary and secondary. Most enrollees however according to report are pre-elementary which amounts to 80 percent of the total student population.
